Hi, I'm Sara, and I'm so happy you're here!
Before becoming a Nutrition and Eating Psychology Coach, I was a girl who struggled with anxiety, depression, a digestive disorder, a weak immune system, and the inability to find love and acceptance for my “inadequate” body. I would diet, boot camp, and juice cleanse my way into losing weight, only to wind up feeling ten times worse than before. After discovering that the root of my chronic physical and mental health symptoms, stemmed largely from what I was eating, I became passionate about studying nutrition. And throughout the process, I began to develop a more compassionate relationship with my body. I wish I had known back then that the key to getting the body I wanted was by relaxing and loving my way into it, not by forcing, pushing, and guilting. Now, I treat my body with immense respect, by feeding it the right foods, but more importantly, the right thoughts.
My entire life changed so drastically for the better during this time that I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping others feel happier and healthier too. I began studying holistic nutrition at Bauman College in Berkeley, CA in 2014 and received my certification as a Holistic Nutrition Consultant in March of 2016. As my studies and my work with clients evolved, I came to realize on a deeper level that while nutrition is foundational, overall health and happiness is incredibly holistic. The mind, body, heart and spirit are truly all connected. If you are struggling with something emotionally (stress, anger, past trauma), your body will respond accordingly, presenting those emotions as physical distress. In order to truly heal, we need to find nourishment and balance in all areas of life. I dove further into this concept by getting certified in Eating Psychology as well as Positive Psychology, and those studies gave me the tools to help my clients overcome the mental and emotional barriers they encounter on the path to a healthier self.
My approach is compassionate, accessible, and attainable. Whether your goal is related to weight loss, emotional eating, body image, stress, digestion, or any other concern – physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually – I want to be by your side to help you get there. Let’s begin your journey to Be Balanced!
